How this is measured
This is the exact realized profit and loss booked by the 25 Hyperliquid perpetual-futures whales WhaleRoom tracks — the wallets on our leaderboard. We read every closing fill straight from the Hyperliquid API and sum its realized PnL. It is the real closed ledger, not an on-chain estimate.
It is a sample, not the whole market. The cohort is the top wallets we currently track, so it leans toward large, active traders and shifts as the leaderboard changes. A single hyperactive wallet can dominate a day. Spot trades are excluded — perpetuals only.

Is this real profit or an estimate?
Real. Every number is the sum of closing-fill realized PnL read straight from the Hyperliquid perpetual ledger for the wallets we track. whale-alert.io and on-chain tools can only estimate profit; this is the exact closed figure.
Why do some coins show a loss?
Realized PnL is what the tracked whales actually closed in the window. A negative number means they booked more losses than gains on that coin recently — often profit-taking or getting stopped out. It is a pulse of behaviour, not a prediction.
